Amaru Don TV Presents: An Audience With Teedra Moses (Youtube Space)

After completing her UK tour Teedra Moses blessed an intimate Youtube Space London crowd with acoustic renditions of her biggest hits. .

During the evening Teedra Moses commanded the small intimate stage and left all that attended wanting more. The R&B Diva was able to wow the crowd with her vocal ability but also entertain them with playful quips and informative anecdotes and a Q&A that gave fans a chance to learn more about the music industry and its demands on artists.

As Teedra sat in front of an audience who were interested in everything from her Complex Simplicity album, to self publishing, to her next project, she didn’t hesitate to answer a single question and embodied what it is to be a Queen in today’s society.

In between a number of  beautiful acoustic performances of tracks such as All That I HaveBackstroke and Be Your Girl, Teedra shared some words of wisdom and explained the power of making the most of your opportunities and understanding that everything happens in its time.

Having pursued music after breaking her leg and realising that her role at the time wasn’t fulfilling enough, Teedra stands as a prime example as to why we should always go for what we desire in life and believe in our own talents. When asked about being signed or unsigned, she placed emphasis on focusing on the things that you can control and paying attention to what’s inside of you.

Without underestimating the journey, she did add that you do have to work hard and plan, but also attested to the fact that you do not need to sacrifice the things that you believe in for the sake of a dollar or the approval of someone else. In her own words, “you should mess with the people that mess with you,” and be selfish enough to get into the experience for yourself rather than getting caught up in trying to think about whether everyone else likes you.

Summing up her views on publishing as a songwriter, she stated “You can’t put a quarter in my mouth and music comes out.” Instead she urged songwriters to retain publishing and likened it to real estate which has the ability to continuously grow. She insisted that you shouldn’t have pressure as a creative, and should be able to share your gifts with the world for no monetary gain. With this in mind, she also addressed the need to have a rider to support you so that you have the time to be creative, yet also execute your ideas, concluding with the quote “An island is an island.”

The set ended with her most notable hit ‘Be Your girl‘. However, after pleading from the crowd. All of Teedra’s performances received rapturous applause from a crowd that was stunned to silence from her shear mesmerising singing ability.
